If you have been looking for a way to get beyond the notes and feel like you have the tools that will allow you to build strategies around what you are going to play over a chord progression then look no further. Whether you are just beginning your journey into or know some of the basics around modes this package with help to get you to the next level. You will get a clear understanding of the supporting theory for the major scale including the modes, intervals, triads and related chords. You also learn how to use the appropriate mode at the right time so that you are targeting the strongest tones. Nick even provides examples of how these different modes have been used in popular songs. Nick's approach to teaching is quite eye opening..and ear opening!! Right out of the gate seeing how to visualize the steps/intervals of a given mode, along with hearing it's tonality, really helps getting away from just memorizing a bunch of "scale" patterns. It's not just helping learn the mood of the mode but how to apply it and be more expressive. Awesome!

Once again Nick has knocked it out of the park with his new 80s metal lesson package. You get driving tracks that capture the classic metal magic found in Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Ratt and Yngwie Malmsteen; combined with an effective breakdown and explanation of the rhythms and licks. In addition you get some really helpful tips and so much more. Nick is a really nice guy, awesome teacher and did an awesome job with these lessons. If you loved the 80s metal scene and want to add some of that mojo to your chops, then you definitely want to get this course!! I've been a huge fan of Michael Schenker, Uli Roth, Matthias Jabs and Wolf Hoffman for an alarming number of years so I was very interested in Nick's German Metal Masters program and after delving into the course I can say this is a great study for those wanting to explore the iconic styles of these fantastic players. Each guitarist has their own segment so you can go right to your favorite or just start at the beginning and work through all of them, I guarantee there is much to learn from each! Especially helpful are the video examples of every lesson and the slowed audio passages so you can thoroughly absorb the material. Highly recommended for both long time devotees of these magicians as well as those just starting to investigate their brilliance, German Metal Masters has enough licks, melodic phrases, riffs and analysis to keep you busy for awhile!!! |

Nick and Jay continue to out-do themselves with these lesson packs. This is my favorite so far. Loving playing around with the crystal clear lessons and licks, and linking them up together. Worth every penny. . |

If you are looking to build your chops and nail those legato licks that have an 80's flavor then look no further. Nick has created a set of really cool ascending and descending riffs that you will want to use in your own playing while at the same time challenging you to become a better player. He also does a great job in explaining the strategies behind playing effectively when using the legato style. The other big plus is you get the professional backing track and the drones which are really useful when you are initially working through each of the lessons. The awesomeness continues...not only do you get the smoking licks and guidance from Nick, you also get his strategies on how to increase your speed, expertise on connecting phrases, moving across your fretboard with greater confidence and how to make a statement with your note selection. Nick is a superb guitar instructor and all around great guy; highly recommended. |

Do yourself a favor and pick this course up,you will not be disappointed.Whether you are a seasoned pro or a beginner there is something for everyone in this course. |

Hot smokin’ licks all packed up into one course that will really get your fingers in shape. The licks will take your legato to the next level. What I like most is that they are tasty modal licks. If you’re into 80s and 90s rock & metal style legato playing, get this course. You’ll learn a lot of idiomatic classic sounding licks and develop your chops in the process. |

Cool course. Jay Parmer and Nick show some practical applications of the Hirajoshi and Hungarian minor scales. Full speed demos are provided along with lick breakdown videos at a much slower pace. Guitar Pro files and tab PDF's are also included. A very well presented course. |

I've purchased many instructionals in regards to sweep picking. What separates this instructional from the rest of the pack is that this is one of the few sweep picking instructionals that actually concentrates on application. You will learn many creative ways to use arpeggios in your solos as well as how to apply arpeggios to different styles of rock music. Also, each arpeggio lick has a very detailed write-up explaining the theory behind it. Five stars! |
