Frequently Asked Questions

These are some questions that have come up over the years from students and customers.

Q: What level of player do I need to be to buy your courses?

A: The good news is that all levels can benefit from any of my courses. A complete beginner, however, will struggle to keep up with the technical requirements of many of the licks and exercises. I recommend that you've been playing at least a year before working with these courses.

Q: Can I stream your courses on my device?

A: Yes! All courses are available for streaming.

Q: What if I can't play the licks in your courses up to the speed of the original?

A: Can't quite keep up? Good! That means you will really grow as a player by working on the material. Remember that you can work on any exercise or lick/song/solo at your OWN speed and still get many of the benefits. The licks you can't quite play at normal speed make great exercises for developing your technique.

Q: What is different about your courses?

A: I have a philosophy that goes like this: Whatever we learn and practice on the guitar also needs to be applied as soon as possible to real music. I call this application process Targeted Applied Practice (T.A.P.) and it's the best way to make the most of your practice time. All of my courses follow this philosophy. So you won't just be learning scales, licks and arpeggios, you will also learn how to apply them to real music. Most courses only teach you the "what" (ie, the lick), but my courses also teach the "how" (how to apply it) and "why" (why it works musically and why you would choose it).
